Shop policy
How we run the drop, in plain language. This is policy, not the binding terms, which live here.
Drops and cutoffs
We cut and deliver on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Wednesday orders close Tuesday 11:59pm, Saturday orders close Friday 11:59pm. Slots hold a fixed number of pounds, so a window can genuinely fill up; if it does, the next one is listed right there.
Packing
Vacuum sealed is standard at no charge. Butcher paper is $0.75/lb, paper plus vacuum is $1.25/lb, and a gift box with a card is $6 for the order. Steaks portioned to size are priced per cut at checkout, in front of you, before you commit.
Cold chain
Beef travels at or below 41°F and goes straight into your fridge or freezer on arrival. Once it is in your hands, storage is yours.
Shares
A share deposit reserves your portion of a drop and is credited against the balance. One share per household per drop, so the line stays fair. A whole cow is sold as a coordinated multi-household drop: each household has its own order, cut sheet, and packing choices, and no single sale exceeds half a carcass, which is how the federal retail exemption works.
Refunds
If an order is wrong or lost in our care, we replace it or refund it. Cancelled drops refund deposits in full. Beef is perishable: once it leaves our cooler in good order, it is yours.
No-shows
Life happens; tell us and we hold the beef another day. Repeated no-shows lose pickup privileges, because cold beef should not sit.
Tax
No sales tax on beef for home use in Kentucky.
